Bad hitreg, bugs etc... But that's not the worst, worse is that everyone has a "clan", but they don't play any league or at least pcws, so there are almost no cups (there are no teams to play them) and leagues are inactive (same reason as with cups) and that's why EA don't care about BF, because only things they hear about is public, public, public, public, hackers, statpadders, exploiters, public, stats hackers and other bullshit and they have to be annoyed with it, so they don't care

Because everybody is just running for their points and so all the great mods (AIX, POE2, FH2, PR) out there really don´t have any chance to make a living.
People try them out and realize "Oh my god, where are my leet stats ?" So they drop it.
Just look how long 1942 survived, because people played it for the fun and not for the points.
Edit : For me it´s not dead at all, I just moved on to the mods.

... but its still going: there are still lots of players, and servers, and even new players.
so just in middle age and going strong (for its age) - most games don't last a year!
to many on here just think the world revolves around themselves and if they have had enough it must be dead.

Well I still play it, but have to say that BF2 will die due to age\bad support(patches)
Let me first say this, just because you don't play anymore it does not mean that BF2 is dead. Far from it.
BF2 is still going strong, if I had to say one of the poll options I would choose newer games - they wounded BF2, not killed.
If you looked at the minutes played of BF2 on XFire a week before CoD4 release you would see a huge increase from what it is now.

Patches, The unfairness of jets, j10 vs f35. If you like jets and want to fly it's hard on some of the cooler looking maps because your constantly trying your hardest just to be not seen, and they have jets that shouldn't even be in the game in the first place.
Copters are way overpowerd, if your infantry and a copter comes they fuck with you for 20 mins until finally getting run over by it.
I liked the game but just got boring, stats is why people play so they don't give a fuck about anything else.
