Yeah, I've read around the forums and seen that people have spotted kill messages with strange weapons (Like 25MM CANNON). I searched the forums and couldn't find anything on this thing I spotted a few weeks ago:

I was flying the USMC bomber, dropped my bombs and jumped out of the aircraft together with them. That's the message I got when the bombs hit the unfortunate soul on the ground.

Another spotting (although not new):

This one puzzles me a bit. I thought the 25MM CANNON was mounted on the aircraft? Why did I get a kill with it while I was using the C4?

The 2nd one killed him when it blew up after you detonated your C4. Never heard of a 25mm cannon though. One of those strange game effects. Not sure about the first one.

BAHAHAHA! The first one is very interesting! I've done the 25MM Cannon one myself twice. Never knew why it said that. The first time it happened was when I C4ed an LAV and one of the guys inside jumped out right before i triggered the bomb. Couldn't say exactly what happened since it all occured so fast, but that's as far as I remember. The second time it happened was when i put C4 on a jet and guided the jet towards a slow moving LAV, bailed, and right as it crashed into the BTR I triggered the C4 (was workin on my expert explosives ). It claimed I killed the driver of the LAV with C4 and a guy that was right next to the LAV with the 25MM cannon.

i thought that too, but when you make a kill from the passenger guns on an lav it just says it's an lav kill.

mk81 GP bombs = the name of the bombs on the F15.

25mm cannon = gun on an LAV, Bradley, or PGZ.

However, you could have just easily modified your language files, just like you did for [Teamkills- Artilery]

Both of those are glitchtes in the game programming. Before they released the game, EA/DICE changed the names of the things you get killed with to the weapon name and not the bullet which was intended.

nope because you can easily go and edit the text files for the game so that it says things like
you fuckin owned bob (instead of you killed bob)
