Whats your pick, SPM, K/D ratio, win percentage, hit percentaga,  etc.

I will go for SPM as the best indicator if a player is good or not.

i'd go with k:d ratio, because its important to do some teamplay but also but a leet g36e/pkm/ak pwnzor !11!1!!  ...LOl so that's why i would not only check spm... And it always happen when u are on wake island lost and you dont see any ennemy for a while.. that kil your spm ..but not your K:d

Kill death ratio.
This shows how well you can respond to a situation in order to survive.
SPM means you run around and kill non stop. K/D it the key of truth.

So a guy making 0.3 point a minute with a high k/d ratio is a better player than one who does 4.0 points a minute with a lower k/D ratio, im talking above1.0 ofc? Whose the most important player for a team, a proning sniper nub taking out 5 guys every round without getting killed or a player producing point in both kills and teamwork?

Stats aren't important

As of right now, I don't find stats Important, I find Gaining skill in stuff more important.

IE a Game that I played a couple hours ago,
Wake Island 2007, 1 Hour 30 Mins round( I think)

Most other people got around 75 Points on average.

I ended up Dead last, with 16 points, BUT

I Finally learned how to bomb stuff, managed to Bomb 3 guys in 2 tanks with one set, I blew 1 jet out of the sky, ETC.

Yes those arn't really that good, but for me, It's perfectly fine.

So yeah, Right now I don't really care about stats, i just wanna learn all the tactics, then, after I get good, I can implement them and Rank up like crazy.

W/L ratio Shows:

-You have made a huge impact on gameplay
-You are a teamplayer
-You patiently defended an important flag whether or not you got many kills from it
-You ignored the 6 enemies who all spawned in the same spot (for the points) to destroy the one spawnraping tank or sniper(for the team/win)

The Most important stat depends on the given situation where you would apply that stat . I must say the more heal and revive points you have the more likely it is i would wanna have you in my squad, people who play any other class other than medic / support in an IO server needs their heads looked at in my opinion. Ok ill let you off if it is a stand off across the bridge on karkand if u go sniper.

If the SPM is above 3.9 average then look at how long the player has been playing for and if its less than 200 hours then it is a fairly new account probably has only been played on IO and the player might not have a clue at what to do in any vehicle. Whilst my SPM which is at something like 2.85 and I have played for for over 1375 hours means I'm pretty good all rounder and my SPM is going up everyday I play on a IO server.

My low K/D was because I learned to fly on ranked servers..... and waiting around for a plane to spawn in the start of bf2 and managing to get in the plane with all the other noobs was like waiting for a supply crate with no commander, it never really happened that often if at all and so my SPM was reduced because of that too. But i did learn to fly eventually and I was for several months in the top 1k pilots...

So what stat is the most important... well i cant really say.. just depends...

Regards

Deadmonk: Win lose is the LEAST interesting stat in my oppinion. These people with ridiculous Win/Lose ratios are those people you see all the time teamswitching.
Teamswitching is a stat hack alot of people use, even the "honest" ones (hey who likes to lose, right). K/d ratio and SPM is a bit harder to hack if your not just outright use them. So no, people with good win/lose ratio are not so good they can change the outcome of the whole round (there are ecxeptions ofc), if they have low SPM and or K/D.

Id say KDR.

Ive been working to recover mine for a long time now. I started out for the first 200 hours of my BF2 playing getting something like a .3-.4 KDR. It climbs... ever... so... slowly...

I think its important for the same reasons 0seb said.

I don't think any one of those is a good indicator of who's a good player and who's not. W:L (Win / Loss Ratio) would be my vote... maybe... but still.

If someone has a high SPM, they could possibly be a nade spammer or medic whore, who just plays the same map over and over again with the same kit and obviously isn't very good.

High KDR could mean a vehicle whore, or a nade spammer. Sure they can kill, but can they help the team win? Who knows.

High accuracy could be an indication of a good marksman, but it could also mean they're a lone wolf sniper who camps in the back and doesn't do shit for the team.

Good WLR means that they play on some good teams and win matches often. However, there are players with not-so-great WLRs that are still great players overall and definitely help the team. (I know a few people who are good but they always like to switch to the losing side for more of a challenge)

Once again, I think that there isn't one single stat that will tell whether or not someone is good at this game.

I´m one of those who change team to the losing side for more of a challenge, thats W/L means absolutely nothing in my world, Think people like the w/l stat since people who arent that good have a decent w/l ratio,  it really doesnt require any skills at all, just luck and or teamswitching.

W/L ratio (if earned honestly). Since IO, all the other stats mean even less then they did before.

Pffffft, put the paddles away for a minute and use another kit. You'd be suprised how well other kits are suited to IO.

As for the most important stat, you can't really come up with a single one that shows a person's skills, but personally, I care more for my KDR then the others.

+ most of the support guys don't give you any ammo anyway no matter how many times you ask

Shotties + AT launchers are funny as hell on IO.

Imo there is no 1 uber-stat. KD + SPM probably the 'most important'.

W/L doesn't mean shit

Reading this thread made me look at my stats, which tell me I have 0.8008 as a KDR.

Whether it counts as a  win or loss depends on which team you spent the longest with.

thats like me...i dont have a 2nd account so im still on my first with a pretty horrible KDR (its going up a bit) but at the end of a round i usually have 30-40 kills with about 3-8 deaths

Drunken face: When i meant amazing W/L stats yours might serve as a good example. Just mindboggling. A differential of 3259.

Wins & Losses    4,142 / 883 (4.69)

Im curious, why do you think your w/l ratio look like that?
