According to a GoNintendo tipster, former Midway employee Patrick Goschy, seen in the video above, and possibly unnamed parties may file suit against Nintendo for patent violation related to a motion controller he and other Midway Games employees created. Those patents—Motion simulator for a video game and Video game system having a control unit with an accelerometer for controlling a video game—were filed in 1999 with the US Patent & Trademark Office.

Patrick Goschy, an ex-employee of Midway, claims that he came up with the Wiimote/Nunchuck idea over 10 years ago. You can see his idea in action in the video below. It does indeed look like he had the same types of ideas. Nintendo says that Mr. Goschy did not have any involvement with the Wii, be that ideas or creation.

the only part that is similar is that it is used in with two hands.

but what control system doesn't use two hands? its just natural progression to add a controller for the second hand.

its to bad he missed out. but thats the world we live in, hes a smart guy im sure he can do something else.

Makes me wonder when the guy who inented the joystick is gonna sue...If the Wii had been a flop, there would be no lawsuit.

Gotta love how these oxygen thieves, working in the video game industry to top it all off, wait years to sue even though they would have thought of it the instant they saw the first ever tech demo of the wii, just to see how well it sells and make a rediculous claim from there

qq more imo

He put on his best tshirt shorts combo for this vid and dragged his 12 inch tv into the garage so his video would have real impact...lol

I heard he is going to settle out of court for a years supply of cheeze doodles and 3 cases of mountain dew...
Love is the answer
