First thing I ever did in a Little Bird is shoot down the Su-39. That's a pretty sad way to go out.
i shot down an a10 for the first time last night with the z10. never actually tried before, but it's not too hard really. the hitbox on the back of the a10 is ginormous. i didn't think i was anywhere near it but i got the kill. screw shooting head on, let the noob pass you, then put one right in his ass.
Headon is where I run into hitbox issues with the a10.

If one starts shooting me, I just use my views to locate him, then smoke him with the MG.
