Hey folks,

I´m going to buy a new toy. As I´ve sold my good old M3 CSL (for a hilarious price ) and will sell my 330d and Z3 the next few month, I want a new reallife-penor-enlarging fuel eater.

My budget limit is around 70K €

The following thingys are in my mind atm.

BMW E92 M3 coupe 2007 used max. 5000km 65.000-70.000€

W T F !!! '07 M3 for €70.000

In Denmark it costs 3 times that because of taxes :'(

I want to move to Slayer's country ! (unless hell is your real adress )

Do you like the Z4M ? or does that go higher than 70.000 EUR ? (I believe it costs less than the m3)

I myself have a e92 330xi. Love that car. Great speed, great handling, but I don't need to tell you that When I bought it, the 335 was available as a xi, which looking back on it may have saved me some headaches (see below)

From what I've heared the 335s have some engine problems, not sure if they are fixed. Apparently the engine construction is too weak for a turbo. Dieing cylinders, dieing and under performing turbos and the like. Although Alpina (*drool*) apparently fixed that ...

The M3 is a great car but for me it would be too braggy. I try to stick to understatement. The coupe looks way better than the sedan and still has enough space for the occasional trip with 4 people. But I need xdrive for the mountains so the M3 was out of the question for me anyhow.

The E92 looks loads better than the E90, especially from the back.

my dad was shareholder of a BMW dealer here in Germany, so I got special prices. I havent talked to the dealer so far, but according to the BMW car configuration system a 07 M3 will be around 70-75K€ with the stuff I want (19" rims, A/C, GPS etc.)

I like the Z4M pretty much, drove one of those for one week last summer. But I want a four seater

@Max: heard about the engine issues of the 335i and 335d too... A 330i has enough power and one of the best developed engines imo. The price gap between 335 and M is too small to concider one of those turbos. The M3 sedan looks more like a beast than the coupe imo, I dont know why. It´s that kind of "oh look a BMW 3** sedan... wow, where is it gone?"

It just makes me feel so sad that i will never earn enough money to own a dream car such as the M3 / Z4M / Any BMW

I'd always go for the E92 330i. But if I weren't so fixed on xdrive and understatement, I'd get the M3 coupe. That car is pure sex. Although the normal E92 still look better imo. I don't like the new bonnet or the carbon roof ...

I would get the M3 because it's all about that feeling, that you know you own a car that was made with more passion than the average car (in this case Average BMW (if such a thing exists ))..

Just that feel of driving something that was made to drive well and perform great...

But then again, that's me... Everyone is different

yeah, there are some little things that I dont like on the M3 coupe... The carbon roof looks somehow wannabe, but the wider body is the sex... Ok, the powerdome is nothing but my penor is bigger than yours...

Floppy: used BMW are pretty cheap... The cost 40-50% of the new cars price after 1-2 years

Personally I love the Carbon roof, It shows that they did something special to make the car handle better... but again, personal preference...

Meh, even at 50% off they are still way more expensive than similar cars here

Try getting a BMW insured in Denmark, it is so much more expensive than other brands

In Denmark you only buy a BMW if you want the logo, because the price difference on them and other brands with similar cars is just too huge to make sence with...

I myself is a BMW lover, but the laws and regulations here in Denmark will never allow me to get a BMW....

Tbh I will be glad if i can get an Aygo within the next couple of years,, (yes.. a toyota aygo, which costs 100.000 DKK ~ £10.000 here)'

This is the kind of car to by new. What you might be paying up front would save you on the surprises you will most likely find on a used model. I say sedan also because of the practicality (2 more doors does not diminish this car one bit ).
