Too me jealousy is the definition of pure evil probably because whenever it affects me I become encompassed into a world of pure melancholy, anger, sadness and, unfortunately, complete stupidity.

My question is this... am I part of a minority who get too jealous or are there any of you bf2sers who share this same unfortunate trait as I do?

I don't get too jealous about much of anything. I just don't let shit affect me. I don't have the time for it, and quite frankly, I have enough to deal with already. I think I used to get jealous about stuff before, but I've changed as I've tacked on the years. It's just a matter of changing your mindset. Shit happens sometimes, and there's nothing you can do about it, so don't let it bother you and make you jealous. Accept it and move on.

The first question to ask is do you understand what jealousy is or are you confusing it with envy?

Envy is the actual word that people wish to use when they commonly say jealous in modern-day life. Jealousy is when you have something - someone especially (ie. their affections) - and so does someone else. Basically, it's when you're feeling your relationship is threatened by an outsider.

With this in mind, I am more envious sometimes but never jealous - and rarely envious.

I get jealous in relationships, that's about it.  But more than enough to make any one man sick.

A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. It don't make any difference who the guy is, so long as he's with you. I tell ya, I tell ya, a guy gets too lonely, and he gets sick.

Nice Shakespeare reference in the title.

I personally wouldn't define jealousy as something that results in melancholia, sadness or anger. To me, 'jealousy' is a sort of dilute-envy, where instead of being completely envious of somebody elses' lifestyle and success- you instead wish for their material possessions, or things of a fickle nature. Jealousy to me is the human version of envy, whereas envy is far more serious and deep-rooted. I get jealous in relationships (I think its human nature and instinct to do so- to a safe degree), but tend to avoid jealousy over material possessions.

Edit: And yes the "Guy gets lonely..." anecdote is from Of Mice And Men.

Yeah.  I haven't read it yet, but loved the quote in Lost.

I actually borrowed if from the library, but I have finals this week so I gotta return it.

There's jealousy (which is good for capitalism) and then there is evil for the sake of baseless hate.
