Now, I've been looking to purchase an entry-level DSLR and have ended up coming to the conclusion that the Nikon D40 is the best choice.

well when i started i got a canon rebel XTi and it is a very nice camera. go with the rebel xti.

i dont use mine anymore tough i got a new and better one

I have the Nikon D40. Fantastic bit of kit.

To be honest, all those cameras in the same price range are pretty much identical.
