QFT, nobody kills for Buddha, and they don't push it on anybody else, everlavadisk wrote:

I disagree. I think there are ignorant people on both sides of the fence. It has nothing to do with religion.CommieChipmunk wrote:
I think that religion requires a certain degree of ignorance though...SenorToenails wrote:
What? Wouldn't it then be ignorance that makes people stupid? Religion does not make people ignorant, or intolerant. This thread shows that.
Can you prove that God isn't real? For me, when judgement day comes, I'd rather be on the side of the fence that believes in God than on the other side of the fence.Mitch wrote:

I challenge ANYONE to provide me with enough proof that there god is real. I don't follow Atheism blindly. Atheism is the lack of the foggy goggles of religion that most people where. Take em off, and see the world clearly.
And yeah i guess i am an evengelical atheist, but im proud of it. I haven't once complained about someone pushing there religion in my face, i love when they do, i love debating it.You could. But a lot of people are proud of there lack of god, and there non-conformity.Mek-Izzle wrote:
I don't think I'm really religious either, but I'd still never call myself Athiest. Stupid ass term imo, can't you just say you're not really a religious person?
Fellow Atheist here. I highly disapprove of you trying to 'convert' people to Atheism. You should know by now that the onus of faith isn't on us to disprove the idea of a god or gods. It's on the faithful to prove his/her/their existence to us.
Atheism is a lack of faith/belief and the rejection of organized/dogmatic religion. Don't drop to their level to try to convert them over. If they approach you, that's when you can start to bring up the questions that will help them start to think about their own philosophical beliefs.

While reading this sentence, it dawned on me that sharing religious beliefs is similar to self defense. At least from this sentence, I get the message that you don't talk about it unless they ask you. It's like that, or being a vampire.Marconius wrote:

the second film is a bit biased, since the parts it talks about are not the preaching of crist (aka. the new laws and the others are i reference to the jews)
aren't they approaching when they click on the thread title Atheism Conversion Thread?Marconius wrote:

Wasnt the bibile written by men? From the word of God? Bit of interpritation, and, whos to say they simply didnt twist it to suit themself. I was catholic, and although I dont quite consider myself an athiest (yet), I am slightly anoyed by these vids. There biassed, theres no balance what so ever, and there just balling out a load of points to push people into a way of thinking.
Someone point out to me, the difference between any of the two vids, and the bible.
Both shamelessly advocate themselfs and pander to the beliefs of the people who created them.

You do realize that Catholics(I dont know about christians) dont even really follow the bible that closely right? Those examples are oh so much out wieghed by stories that actually have a good message to them if not taken too literally.
