About two days ago, I sent a pm to both gs & usm to ask them about their experiences in Iraq. Well, I got answers on the questions I asked (thanks alot dudes) and there's probably alot more people than just those two to ask about their military experiences, and alot more questions to be asked too!

Tell me your stories, everything is welcome. Wether you're a vet, still in service, been in Iraq or are just like me, waiting to join. Share your stories, post videos, hell, tribute videos will do too! All of it will be appreciated.

Tell me about what you did in the military, experiences you still remember, or what you're hoping to do in the military. Anything goes.

For myself, I wish to join the Airmobile Brigade next year as NCO, or well start the education for it. Hopefully would be nice to become a SLA (dutch for Long Distance Shooter) and eventually join the dutch SF to become a real sniper. I've been gathering alot of information about the military over the past couple of years but nothing compares to the stories of real soldiers. So please, tell me what you can.

Well i was in the Infantry for 8 months (Mandatory service) but as an voluteer.

After that i couldnt continue, i have to wait for 3 more months (Probation sentence) is over, then i can join again, and i will..

From there i will have to take 4 more months, of advanced infantry training, after that it will prolly be a trip to Afghanistan, since we pretty much pulled out our last troops in Iraq (besides pilots and special forces)..

I will post some pics when i found some..

I support all the troops, but I dont support the war. What are we fighting for over there? Dont we realise that it is our occupation of the middle-east that drives the extremist theology of the Taleban and Al Qaeda? Therefore, the sooner we end our occupation, the better.

Please dont auto-flame for me saying that I dont support the war: there is a big difference between opposing the war and supporting the troops. The men and women in our armed forces put their lives on the line for their countries every day, and I respect them for that. Its something I doubt I would be able to do.

Btw, I have a friend in class, and his brother's been sent to alot of places while he was in the military, and each time he got in combat situations (he was part of a scouting platoon and was the gunner of a Fennek)

Now since he's back, my friend told me he really just misses the front line. (his gf pretty much broke down, so he came back and ended his service in the armed forces) but all he does is play war games at max volume because he misses the gunsounds and situations, that's as close as he can get. According to my friend, everytime he reads the newspaper and sees that another dutch soldier got killed he gets all worked up and wishes to go back all the more.

Did you have any similar experiences when you got back in america from your service in Iraq?

My girlfriend is an NBC NCO (74 d) in the army right now and will be deploying to iraq end of febuary.
Even though she works for a finace unit right now, which means she is probably not really in contact with the "action", I´m of course still a bit worried
about it. But we both knew the day would come, so we just have to stick through the 15 (!) months, and hope the best.
Not a real big story, but still...

And jord, you`re fucking sick in the head. Two of my friends out of 1st ID went downrange and didn´t come back. I hate people feeding their entertainment on the death of other people. Bah !
