I'd want to be a sniper...But I sure as hell don't have the patience for it. Probably going to sign up for the Air Force. Not because I'm scared of the front lines, it's just been my dream to fly since I went to my first air show.

well they set up the recruit on that one, when a DI hits the floor or Officer, the firewatch screams out " Attention on Deck" .... well the DI had put on his 8 point cover instead of his smokey, then walked on deck and the firewatch didn't say a thing ..... thats a big NO-NO and got a ear full

I´m not judging in general, I´m expressing my personal opinion. You wouldn´t be so pleased, if I would find entertainment in a video of somebody killing one your family members. Yeah, thought so.
And those "seriously gory videos" that you request, may show one of my friends dying.

Dayarath, why the Luchtdebiele Brigade? Those sons of bitches are the most arrogant assholes in our armed forces. They think of themselves as paratroopers, while they're obviously not.

To the Canadian guy, do you guys use the Elcan scope on those C7A1's?

I figured the luchtmobiele brigade was the best way to step up towards KCT, cause that's my original goal, but you need to be atleast 20 for that and I need to usefully spend about 3 years inbetween that

That's the point: I didn't take it and we were conducting an exercise during which we fired blanks. I could hardly just stop, screw it off, pose for the picture, and then continue. The sarge would have had my ass for that

Im thinking of maybe going into the RAF after uni. Ive been flying a fair few times, and the instructor said i was a natural, and ive always wanted to be a pilot.

On the other hand, im also pretty good with a rifle, so maybe infantry would be good for me.

And i did like 4/5 years in the ATC, so i know stuff about that sorta thing.

But i dno

If you're a Uni then I would imagine RAF is for you. You'd be too overqualified for infantry, plus you may as well use your degree to earn serious money.

Nah You're never too overqualified for infantry. I could go officer school if I wanted to but I don't, the basis I'll be laying in the first years is crucial for me if I ever wish to be a good commander.

You see, if you start as an NCO your bond with the soldiers is alot closer and you actually get to do and see the exact same stuff as your men do. You'll experience, and know what kind of shit they'll go through and you'll know how to work them up eventually. Camraderie is extremely important to me, and probably very usefull in the army life.

last thing I'd want to is become is an officer that never really saw combat anyway.

@Jord: It really is considered a sick wish to watch real people die, terrorists or whatever - it really isn't the normal thing to want ...
