What are those things that you can put in your directory so you don't have to use your CD every time you want to play a game? Does anyone know where I can find them for games like BF2, BF1942, and some other games?

As long as you own the original CD/DVD it is not illegal to get an mini image and mount it to play the game.

I do OWN all these games.
I use Virtual DAEMON Manager V4.09HE. Works great.

ISO file
the little >10MB changes are called, "No CD HACK" or "NO CD CRACK" or "NO CD PATCH"
Basically use NO CD and then some word for reprogram so its illegal
Using one IS ILLEGAL, so dont, just use ur damn disc
But i wont post more than that because it would/could violate rules

Who cares if it's illegal. Downloading songs and movies is illegal too, but I do that anyways. Who doesn't?

How is a no-cd crack illegal?
Because if you use it, you won't scratch up your CD/DVD and therefore, if you like the game enough, spend another $50 on a new copy of the game?
Having to insert CD to play is retarded, crackers will always find a way to bypass it, while it only pisses off people who legally bought the game, much like all copy protection.
And don't go saying that copy protection will at least give the crackers some challenge, it will, sure, which will give them more e-rep/e-penis whatever, for being able to crack it.
I reckon that the game that hasn't been cracked (which is popular enough to bother cracking) doesn't exist.
People who don't want to get banned by bragging about it? I don't know, tbh, stab in the dark.ThaReaper wrote:

I'm not bragging, I don't want a huge stack of CDs by my computer. I want to be able to play without putting my CDs in all the time.
Nope, not true. As long as you have the orignal game on a disc, it doesn´t matter. The "NoCD patch/crack/hack" just tells the copyprotection a bit of a different story when it comes to the core main files that it needs.GodFather wrote:

If you don´t copy the game itself, you´re totally good and legit.

lemme re-word this
If you use a no-cd crack, PB / other anti cheat shit can see it as a HACK. Ive known people with no-cd cracks on some old games who got banned for it, havent tried since then, I just use discs
It seems logical if you mod some vital files to bypass the cd that PB might pick it up as a hack and kick/ban you
What was really retarded and over-the-top was Bioshock's DRM. I think that by itself got many people to pirate the game.PBAsydney wrote:

Erm... you can´t play a cracked game online anyway... nothing to do with PB.
Ahhh, if you have a valid CD key (Read: You bought the game.) and you have an image mounted, you can play online.HellHead wrote:

Yes, but a mini image is not the same as a no cd crack. Mini images look like original CDs to the copy protection (while being 5% of the size, and can be mounted with Deamon Tools), while no cd cracks remove the copy protection from the game executable (which PB will detect).GodFather wrote:

I use a 20MB BF2 DVD mini image, works like a charm while leaving the exe/copy protection untouched.
I made images of my BF2 CDs with Alcohol 120% and I mount the image of CD 1 to play. I didn't think it would work but it does.
No-CD cracks or patches are almost certainly illegal. They modify the software and I'm sure the BF2 end-user license agreement says you may not alter the software. Making images and mounting them is much better anyway.
