Basra is a mess of rival warlords/militias - is that really what your goal for Iraq is? The rest of Iraq is hardly normal - walled and segregated communities.
And you know this is the case throughout Iraq because you've been there recently? The fact is, the Iraqis have taken over 9 of 18 provinces. Certainly not the timeline everyone hoped for, but it is progress. Now the (historically) most violent, insurgent-laden province is ready for transition to Iraqi control...but let's just go ahead and focus on the negative things instead. God forbid we recognize any progress by the Iraqi people or the coalition.

Oh I'm sorry - I never realised you had been there.... lol. Come back to me in 5 years when the whole thing blows up. You're arming your enemies and you're too blind to see it. All reports out of Basra speak of what has essentially been a British military failure, with the city falling into the hands of rival Shi'a militias and women being subjected to far greater oppression than before. I can't believe the US could be so stupid twice - surely it should be 'once bitten, twice shy'. You armed Al Qaeda against the Russians and now you've armed militias in Anbar. You will rue that day.

For everyone of them an american soldier can come home and be with his wife and kids. I would just call him a shit bag for not looking like everyone else in formation. Anbar was always a bad place for americans till the Awakening COuncil started.....basically  Sunni's who got tired of Al - Q. wanted them out....so they retaliated.......now they stand 70 000 strong and the Shia govt wants to disband em cause they think they might band their own militia which might go against Shia militia's
