In the middle of redesigning a website ive "made" (or to be more precise, a few templates and Zimmer made).

The original site is here and the new site is here. Just want to know if the new site loads OK for you? Any changes you'd make? Do you think the new one is an improvement on the old one?

Note this is a template for the rest of the site, that ive quickly knocked up today, - no links work.

Also, does the banner at the top load for you? (Its white for me, but works for Zimmer).

The banner loads for me, and I like it..

To me it looks kinda blured, it could be my own eyes, but I like it..

Jenspm - ill take that as a compliment. I see what you mean... but i rekon the only/main similarity is the background, and i think the MS site doesnt look bad anyways. But then again im a Nazi dictator and dont take criticism. Expect a death squad at your door in a few moments.

Karma. Your site is alright. Just a few things I would like to point out for you.

Try to create your own design, 2 concurring designs don't work well. You took the CSS menus of CSSPLAY.COM and then templated from a flat style. Both don't go well.
Try changing the background images.
Either change the CSS menus or make your header/logo web2.0 ( that is what the CSS menus are meant to style ).

First, thanks for the help (both with site v1 and v2!)

TBH i did try to create my own. I used your tutorials and got a box with my gradient background... and then kinda stopped. Im not just not good enough at all this yet. I can kinda read the CSS and understand whats going on, but i never know why a tag is there instead of somewhere else, whether i need this extra tag or not and why it just wont fucking work sometimes!

Again, im definately going to have a go with the images, but i suck ass with PS. You saw what an effort it was to make the gradient background, so much so that the banner was made in powerpoint! :shame: You can see my attempt at a web 2.0 logo in V1 - not pretty.

But practise makes perfect, and i hope i can only get better (remember when i started at the end of summer and didnt know what CSS was?!)

And just so everyone is clear - Zimmer is legendary.
