Global Rule of Engagement
I have been playing Bf2/SF for over 500 hours and am getting extremely tired of getting kicked/ban by the rogue server administrators and their Uber-noob clanman!
If you are running or administering a “RANKED” server, you should be asked to adhere a set of global rule of engagement (GRE) or loss your ranked server status.
From what I have been able to find on the net about EA GRE tends to be focused more on anti-cheating and not player fairness or for good game play!
One good example of poor server administrating (IMO) happen to me last night while playing on the Raging Rebels (http://www.r2clan.com/) ranked server (209.160.40.25:16567).
To make a long story short, I was kicked for one minute for base camping! (Taking out the UAV, Stat and Artillery), by one of the many administrators (Uber-noob clansman) who was playing on the other teams (and they were losing the map)!
I was able to rejoin just a minute before the map ended, so I was able to keep my wining score (LOL).
So after the next map loaded, I asked the question; WHY I was kicked?
They replied with “read OUR rules” NO BASE CAMPING!
I replied; taking out the enemies assets is not camping and that the task was within EA design of the game, than I left never to return to their Uber-Noob server again!
Now here are my questions:
1. Should ranked server have the right to kick you for doing something that is designed into the game?
2. Should EA. have and enforce a Global Rule of engagement that goes beyond anti-cheating?

Just a side note to all those Uber-Noob Server administers that think taking out the enemies assets is camping! Here is a bit from the community update from 7/22/05.
Community Update - 7/22/05
A Message from EA/DICE about Battlefield 2
