Both Battlefield games not starting up

BF2 and 2142 are not starting right. They make the black screen like they're about to do something but then go right back to the desktop. I tried reinstalling the video card drivers and reinstalling the games and it didn't work. The only other game i've tried to get it to work with is Gangsters 2, which works just fine.

Re-install games
Re-install patches
Re-install Punkbuster

what are your system specs and are you behind a firewall... Do Punkbutter A and B have access to the internet?

What software/hardware changes did you make before the games started crashing? If it worked before that means that something new is breaking it.

New monitor? Try deleting the battlefield 2 folder in My Documents. This is how I fixed the same problem with my new monitor.
