Title pretty much asks my question. My hard drive and dvd drive are removable for some reason and wondering if there's a quick fix. If I have to go into the BIOS, whoever posts it, I would like to know exactly what to do so I don't screw anything up (friend put it together for me).

Thanks in advance.

K, how bout this; right click the clock, select properties, click the customize button by the notification area (towards the bottom) and tell it to hide those icons "always". Annoyance solved, no? Unless I'm missing the point of this all together.

lol ya u are. having them be able to be removed lessens performance, if I'm correct.

Or try this: Right click on my computer, select Manage. Click on disk management. Right click your drive, select properties. Enable disk caching n stuff. Like this:

k....thats retarded. and totally false. if its connected right, you should be good.

for example: an external harddrive is just as fast as an internal one, but because of the connection (USB2.0, firewire, etc), it doesnt perform as fast. doesn't mean the hardrive is slower at all, but the cable is slower then the one in your pc.  if you have it installed correctly, it shouldnt matter for performance.

I've looked at that multiple times and didnt know thats what I needed to do because the other option says "for better performance"

Disk caching is good.... unless it's on a usb drive type thing where you remove it often.

Let me know if you want this back open, cool?

Lets sprinkle some crack on it then and get moving. Open and shut case Johnson.
