I've got a 360 and it came with "component HD cables." I have those hooked up to my HDTV, and it's great. But the Xbox also has an HDMI port that I can use. What I'm asking is will the picture quality be any better if I used the HDMI cable compared to the component HD cables?

The best quality you can get is using the Hdmi cables in to the tv HD "acceptor" (htere should be a switch on the cable(where it connects to the xbox)

Yes, use the HDMI cable. Also, if your TV is 1080p, it is most likely only through HDMI, not component, so you should see a difference there as well.
depends on your TV though, as well as the game. most 360 games do NOT have true 1080p, and are simply scaled up. HDMI won't show a difference on a scaled up game, because of the inherent loss of quality.Airwolf wrote:

edit: @slickdawg, not so. i have a 15 inch LCD thats 1080p, component are there.

HDMI is 1080p. Component is 1080i.
