Was just looking for it yesterday, actually. Thanks!
I'll be getting the Q9450, though.

I wonder - my 4300 is also running at 3.0ghz. If you were to run my 4300 and that 8400 in the same rig, what would be the difference in performance?
I don't think I even have to answer that question. Just look at the specs. From that you can tell which one will operate much faster.Lucien wrote:

My E6600 running at 3GHz will outperform your 4300. Just because it has a more powerful core and it has more cache. ( 2x )
The E8400 is more efficient, more powerful and has larger 3x larger cache.
I know it would be faster, but I have no idea what the actual difference would be - it would be nice to see how much performance is influenced by things other than the core clock.Zimmer wrote:

They have it at MicroCenter (big electronics store) for $189.99 !
This is a good place to look.Lucien wrote:

Well, the Q9300 will be $266 USD. No idea what that is in £'s, but around £133 I'm presuming. The E8400 is 225 USD (£113) so it's really not that big of a price difference.Shadow893 wrote:

Not that bad and definitely worth it.
250 Euros is about 360 USD. That's pretty expensive.
