Damn it! Was playing Wake earlier, and towards the end of the map I was in a tank tooling around as I had for most of that map. The tickets are steadily ticking away, and we are literally seconds away from victory (I forget which said we were, does it really matter?). I'm sitting in North Base and blunt a brief attack by the opposing force, and alluva sudden that great little popup reveals itself along with its corresponding voiceover "You've been recommended for an award". Armored Service!?!? Sweet! Wasn't even really trying for that! Whoo-hoo! However, no sooner had the voiceover finished then the round ends. I played a few more rounds, and then went to check my BFHQ. No Armored Service Ribbon! Damn it! Damn IT! DAMN IT! I guess the round must have ended before the server got the data.. or some such crap.. But still damn.. IT! Ah, well.. thanks for listening.. Guess I'll just have to go back at it and try again.. :^/

Without flaming you, here it is:
There is a problem with EA right now.
It takes about ten - twenty hours average, until the award shows up.
As you know, it is the weekend, and there are more than a million people who play BF2 on. Wait awhile and it will appear, I assure you.

yeah. patience is key. unfortunatly for me, i got my armor service ribbon right when the stats servers were crashing on friday. Never registered, and never will, since all my other stats have updated.

yeah same happened to me with service ribbon but i was trying to get the good conduct medal i go back on bfhq bout an hr after and its not there??

no your stats have not disappeared.
yes you have wasted your time killing for the same ribbon/medal, you had it all along...
no the requirement for SF ribbons is more like 50 hours in theatre(s), but still kinda unknown/random...
