Is there a way to allocate more bandwidth for BF2 on a LAN?

I share an internet connection with a few people, and sometimes in the evening a friend is downloading shit. And I get the crap end of the stick when I try to play BF2, so is there a way I can have BF2 hog the bandwidth rather then those download clients? (Without closing those downloads of course.)

What client are they using? If it's a torrent application, then yes you can. Simply click on the file being downloaded and go to download speed, adjust accordingly...

Yea, depending upon your router, you may be able to set up reserved or priority bandwidth based upon IP address. However, the units that I use do not have this feature.

qos would be what you want to look for, if you give us the router we can probably tell you whether you can do it or not.

I'm using a D-Link router (After my Netgear went to shit) It's model number is WBR-1310. Would I find these settings via the setup page for the router (Setup page meaning that page that opens up after entering in the default IP address for the device etc etc.)?

I'm not sure about the specific router.... but look for QoS (quality of service)

I know on my switch the order of the ports defines bandwidth allocation priority. Quite handy really.
Check the manual.

I don't understand much about ports on the router I'll do some research into it, and this QoS ya'll are talking about.
