Are Lifeguards considered EMS? or do you have to have title 22 also to be considered EMS?

No title 22 does not make you an emt/ems. You need your title 22 and cpr for professional rescuer before you can take a emt class. after the class and skills done in the class you can take national registry. After passing that, then your an emt/ems. Right now im in the process of getting my emt, already have cpr and title 22.
EMS refers to Emergency Medical Services.
This is a system not a person or a thing.
It includes the call recvn'g center, primary Basic Life Suuort and Advanced Life Support personell.
An EMT is an Emergency Medical Technician. This is a certification, usually given out by the DOT in the US.
These days your typical EMT undergoes 120+ hours of training in first-aid and Emergency Care.
EMT's are usually licensed for three years at a time with a yearly CPR refresher mandatory.
Hope this helps.
