Oops, that's right. I thought I had one too many patches in there...Varegg wrote:
Two fails in that post, you don't have to patch between BF2 and SF cause SF is in itself a patch named 1,1 -and you must patch between any other expansion or addon like Tampa ... make sure it's a full patch, the incremental will not work, so latest full patch always ... none of the old ...mtb0minime wrote:
Hint: Next time you get a new comp or reformat, save the .exe files that install AF and EF so you don't have to download them again
And as for your problem with SF: Is that a Windows security message or is it something else?
The order in which you have to install things is the following:
BF2
Patch
SF
Patch
AF/EF
Patch.
It's annoying, but that's what you gotta do That's assuming you only have the 1.41 patch, though.
Ok cool.Varegg wrote:

It's from the tweak guide on the site i referred to, have never had to do it myself so i can't verify the correctness of it, but the site is well known for it's tweak guide so i asume it is correct ...steelie34 wrote:

Ok, some advice on how to do this? Never done something like that before.Varegg wrote:
Could be your firewall ... check this site out concerning firewall issues ... www.secretsofbattlefield.com <--- choose the tweak guide.
Step 3b: Unlock BF2's Ports
Open up all the ports in your firewall, Battlefield 2 uses ports to contact the internet, Firewalls block these ports, you will need to open them up, If you have a router, forward the ports to the computer which uses Battlefield 2 Here are a list of ports you need to open on BF2: 16567 and 16569 are the most important.
Opening these will help
UDP 27900
UDP/TCP 29900
TCP 80
TCP 4711
TCP 29901
UDP 1500-4999
UDP/TCP 1024-1124
UDP 28910
UDP 16567
UDP 55123-55125

thats the http port. i cant imagine what bf2 needs to do requiring http access to your system. for what it's worth, mine is closed and bf2 works fine...Varegg wrote:

u have to have these ports forwarded by your router so the bf2 servers can communicate with your system. it all depends on what kind of router you have to open the ports; try connecting to your router's admin software, it should be 'relatively' easy to find.Commie Killer wrote:

Also, why do I need to open up ports to install this? Its a CD.
Well, I didnt open up these ports, but I have BF2 installed and patched, I can connect to servers no problem, so I doubt this is it. I still am not able to install SF though.steelie34 wrote:

A thing pops up that says something along the lines of "Windows Security" and the installation closes. Ill go try the install again to get the exact wording.steelie34 wrote:
wha happens when u try to install SF?
u need to be more specific, try to get as much of the error as possible... also, are you the local admin of the computer you're using?Commie Killer wrote:

You got it a little wrong. First you gotta install BF2, then install SF, then patch them, then install th booster packs then patch again. AF and EF don't require their pwn patches.Commie Killer wrote:
Ok, got a new computer, would like to play EF and AF which I already bought, problem is, I cant find a link to the EA Downloader, only way I have found to get it is to buy another fucking game from them. A link to download this so I can play these would be much appreciated. Also, I know you need certain patches to install the games. For example, when you install BF2SF it auto updates BF2 to version 1.1. Also, EF, and AF require their OWN patch to install, what are the names of these patches?
try creating a new account on your PC that is an administrator. if you can run the game successfully, then it's just an issue with your user account, if you can't, it might be a system-wide issue. you don't do any mucking with ntfs or registry permissions, right?Commie Killer wrote:
Well it installed this time, dont know why, didnt do anything different. Now I am getting kicked because of "Inadequate Operation System Privileges". I AM the admin on my computer.

No nothing like that, and this account is already a administrator.steelie34 wrote:

After I login, my purchase doesn’t show up in the EA Download Manager. What should I do?
Make sure you are logged in with the correct account. You need to log in with the account you used when purchasing or registering the product. Pre-ordered games will not show up until the game is ready for preload or released to the public. If you still cannot access your game, contact customer service. Http://support.ea.com
