The 8500GT is absolute shit dude. When a card that is over 4 years old can completely smoke a "new" card, then you know it sucks balls.
There is no possible way you will ever make an 8500GT play any modern game with decent FPS. I don't care if you overclock it 300%, it will still SUCK BALLS!
It is, as stated above, a card for an HTPC. It is not meant to play games.

You don't need more memory unless you're playing on huge resolutions, or very demanding games with tons of textures like Crysis, etc, and on all high. Otherwise, 256MB of memory is fine for almost any situation.
And your card sure as hell does not meet those prerequisites.

No offence, but don't fight over it. The memory isn't the thing that matters here. The truth is that 8500GT, will it be 1GB or 50GB version, is not a gaming card. As you can see it performs quite equally to the 6600GT, which is old. Really old.
