Update, I changed the DVD drive from IDE to SATA,  I will only be using this PC For gaming, I don't like Crysis or other non realistic games.  Thanks to dankassasin42o for high jacking my thread and turning it into an AMD/Intell debate.  I like Intell and will go with Intell, Thanks anyway.

So for the ones really giving good input, what is an x38 motherboard?

Two things:

I would try to get an X38 motherboard instead of 680i. Also, I would get Crucial Ballistix RAM.

Other than that, looks great.
Crucial ram is shit IMO. Get G.Skill or OCZ.
No, it isn't.

Same here. It looks as if you drafted that piece of shit you want us to consider real in a matter of 45 seconds. We're gamers, we're not stupid.

Besides, nothing there can convice me not to keep going intel. I've had intels my whole life, and I don't plan to stray from them. Nor should anyone else until - like I said, AMD gets their shit together. But right now, going AMD is absolutely and completely fucking stupid when the E8's and Q9's are coming out VERY soon.

get a X38 board instead.

The new Intel chipsets P35 and X38 has a higher tolerance to high FSB.

I have a 680i and it does not like high FSB at all.  My max on it is 1378mhz.

I have a Q6600 (G0) and a Asus P5N32-E SLI.  Right now I have it 3.1ghz.

oh and get Crucial Ballistix.  I have a pair and they overclock like crazy and can take a beating especially after overclocked.

Um? I have the Antec 900 and it's fine. Sure, it could be bigger...but it's adequate and has plenty of room to work with.

Plenty of room, especially with what the builder is putting into it.

The only real downside of the antec 900 is that in its stock form, good cable management can be a problem. This can be remedied though, with a rotory tool and a couple hours of free time.

lol.

You could put 5GB of RAM on that card, and it would still suck.

My buddy got one...it's worse than his 7600GS...

suxs2bhim, I am very happy with this card and suggest if he has problems to download nvidia tools and tweak it till it works.
there are better gpu cards no doubt but none for the price of this one $99.00
I currently run this card in the "yellow" zone with no crashes, I did have bf2 fail when overclocked in the "red" zone.
all-in-all I now enjoy much more graphic detail than when I had 2 512MB SLI cards run together.

Um, you have no idea what you are talking about. So please, learn about components and come back with a decent answer.

The 8500 is so shit, it doesn't appear on the basic benchmarks for GFX's.

Actually, here is the evidence.
http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_ … ;chart=318

The 7600 GS > 8500 by a HUGE margin. And just see, if you spent an extra $120, you would have gotten a card which is on a completely different level of performance. Even with a tweaked 1GB of memory, your card is nowhere near the top 20.

Put simply: You're an idiot.

The 8500GT is absolute shit dude. When a card that is over 4 years old can completely smoke a "new" card, then you know it sucks balls.

There is no possible way you will ever make an 8500GT play any modern game with decent FPS. I don't care if you overclock it 300%, it will still SUCK BALLS!

It is, as stated above, a card for an HTPC. It is not meant to play games.

God, you sound like Blackpanther and his super-duper 7300GT that will play any game on high. Are you two related, by any chance?

Please, learn what you're talking about before you start flapping your gums.

It's not so much that the 8500 sucks, but it sucks for gaming. It's meant for people who only want to browse the internet and watch Hi-Def/Blu-Ray movies on their PC.

I wouldn't choose 256MB over 1GB thanks though
Well then, you truly don't have any idea what you're talking about.

You don't need more memory unless you're playing on huge resolutions, or very demanding games with tons of textures like Crysis, etc, and on all high. Otherwise, 256mb of memory is fine for almost any situation.

And your card sure as hell does not meet those prerequisites.

oh damn 8500 sucks bollox...

edit: it is pretty retarded that they put way too much memory in cards that definately can't handle the settings that would benefit of the excessive amounts of memory that the crappy cards have. total waste of money IMO

OK, to be clear "I" wouldn't choose 256MB over 1GB, or a 750cc over 1000cc or a 223 over a 7mm, however that's my opinion,
it is also my opinion that every one of you peeps who replied to my reply on this thread must have been abused as children, or are still children
currently being abused. Seek some Dr Phil and get over your anger issues, so you think my gpu sucks, big deal you don't have to buy it or use it.
Whoah. Calm down there, jethro. Nobody's angry with you, you're just claiming you're right and not listening to reason. You're saying YOU wouldn't choose a 256mb of a 1gb memory card...but that's not the logical answer and is wrong.

To get an 8500 over a 7600 and claiming that it's better is exactly what you were doing, and we all said you were wrong which you were. There's no problem in that and you shouldn't be offended. The fact that you're claiming that we're children because we disagreed with you indeed makes YOU the child.

Here, have a slice of humble pie.

No offence, but don't fight over it. The memory isn't the thing that matters here. The truth is that 8500GT, will it be 1GB or 50GB version, is not a gaming card. As you can see it performs quite equally to the 6600GT, which is old. Really old. Much worse than the 7600 other people have come up with. 8500GT is honestly meant for video editing and such instead of gaming.

You may be able to play games on it and you can be satisfied with it, but don't try to tell us it's a good card. It might be enough to you, but not for us.

ppl diss me cuz i bought a 1GB 8600.... but i have it massively OC'd with no problems.... and i knew i didnt need 1 GB but when it was only $5 more than the 512 version i thought "hey wat the hell"

and no im not trying to defend him and his 8500 cuz it is a shit card.

but i am saying that my card has run anything i need it to. and upgrading from a 256 X1300 for only $100 wasnt to bad

My brother's old PC struggled to run BF2 on Medium (1280 x 1040) and it had 8500 GT, which i think was heavily OC'd.
