How does on get onto a roof that is normally not accessible? I've seen dudes up on the roof in Overgrown, on the building with the mounted mg. Is this a hack, a cheat, or just some sort of glitch? And if so, how does one do it?

I have never been kicked or banned in COD4. I doubt if it's even possible. People just don't care on that game.
Just climb up onto the dumpster at the end of the brick wall that's attached to the house. Then get on top of the wall and sprint onto the corner of the roof and up you go.
Yer there are vids on youtube showing u how to get to all the exploits in COD4

A couple youtube vids explain how to do it, its not too hard just takes a bit of practice try making your own server on that map and just trying it out a few times.

On Ambush you can actually walk from the middle to the edges of the maps over the rooftops of the buildings, on both sides of the road!
Rooftops aren't really that great of an advantage.
