I was looking through some of the different pc cases online and stumbled on this one lolz.

Here is the link, never knew u could use the cardboard box to successfully run a pc  hahahaa (but its only a case)

http://pc.theradomir.com/cardboardbox.html

what do u think does the case make any difference or no

Yeah, the cardboard would act as an insulator and keep in heat. Not the best idea.

Aluminum is geeuuud.

And who wants to put thier hundreds of dollars worth of hardware in something that looks like shit. Unless your worried about people breaking into your pad and stealing your stuff, then it would be a good idea. Dressing up your expensive stuff to look like garbage is the best theft protection.

Heh, reminds me of something me and my friend did a year or two back. We got an old case, covered it in cardboard, made a window for it out of gladwrap and sealed off all of the joins in packaging tape. We were going to put an old PC in it and use it as a leech machine at LANs, but then all of the cardboard fell off, so we just ended up binning it.

Pity, as it was a real work of art.

Been done too many times already. I've had like five of those.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Make a computer, using a wall as the case.

DO IT!

As in screw the Mobo into the wall etc.

I've done that... Lol.

But, unfrourtunatly, it was in my mom's last engaged guy's house. And that guy died in a heart attack a couple of years ago. And that house is no more, since it got struck by lightning, burned and then got flattened when someone decided to build a new house there. Inb4fake, yes, I know.

Does a shelf count?

This is the victim. It's an Asrock K7VM3 motherboard with an AMD AthlonXP 3000 and some small heatsink.

Sarcasm much? That thing is fucking huge for an XP.

It's a fun thing to do. MPC had an article where when building a comp on a budget one of the technicians made a case out of the boxes the components came in. Recycling ftw.

Cool.

It may not be practical but doing this is a great way of extending and improving computer design.  First a cardboard box, then a fish tank, next a BBQ, etc, etc, etc.  Tech Mods FTW!
