Oh, yeah.. VIA..
..The company that inspired AMD to make their own chipsets, because VIA kept making broken piece of crap chipsets for AMD processors
..The company that couldn't build a proper ATA (hard drive) controller to save their lives (bus reset on every IDE process transaction..) (1998-2001)
..The company that really mastered obtuse, bullshit chipset driver installation routines (1990's)
..The company that did so little QC testing on their 'latest and greatest' chipsets, that it couldn't manage to install the current version of Windows without a major hack/patch/workaround (2000).
..The company that rebadged a piece-of-shit single processor chipset as a workstation dual-processor chipset.. but didn't properly implement dual processor memory access, IRQ management, or ..really.. any of the features necessary for a true dual processor chipset. Just work the 1st processor, and show the 2nd processor in Windows task manager.
I've a better idea. Instead of a VIA, I'll take an out-of-date intel processor, piss on it, then stick it in a motherboard while it's still dripping wet instead.
That last line...just classic laugh. Thanks man!
