About the "appropriateness" of videos on the forum

Bernadictus closed this topic http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=91321 which had a video of various executions in the game Manhunt. While graphic, the game has an M rating.

I'm not QUITE sure what he meant by his close message, but I inferred that because there are users under 17 or 18 or whatever, we can't post that stuff.

My question - CoD4 is rated M, Crysis is rated M, yet people post pictures an videos of those games with no repercussions. Why the double standard?

Half of us will probably end up buying the game anyway, dont see why the video is deleted when theres loads of other stuff going on, such as sexual talk etc etc

Because COD4 and Crysis dont have graphic scenes of violent murders.

And did this really warrant a thread? PMs might have been a better idea.

Yeah. People talk about getting shit-faced drunk, nailing chicks, etc (note I don't have a problem with this) yet we suddenly can't post videos of SOME GAMES because of minors? It's a double standard and it's stupid. I highly doubt little Timmy will tell his mother that he saw a 3D model getting cut up by a 3D chainsaw. And even if he did, I doubt there would be any problems other than Chuy having to tell his mom to go to hell when she sends him an angry e-mail.

In CoD4 you execute a POW (even though he was an asshole) and other such subjects that aren't pretty. If anything I'd say CoD4 is more serious a game than Manhunt, which is laughably unrealistic in the amount of gore.

Violence on TV and in movies is just as bad if not worse than virtual violence. Shit, the manhunt executions dont show much other than a spray of blood and gurgling. Its the sounds that make it somewhat gruesome. Movies have full view of dismemberment and mangled flesh.

I dont know where you live but I dont see naked girls running around covering their nipples with one finger. Id love to live where you do if thats an everyday thing.
