Softcore porn sigs ? There is nothing a normal person would not see on the street in every day life.
Threads about sex normally get closed to when they get to "graphic".
And the alcohol threads were pretty tame.l
My point stands.
Sick and tasteless and inappropriate for this forum. Period.
Because COD4 is not a videogame made for the sole purpose of showing the main character executing other people in the most cruelest ways !HurricaИe wrote:

And I never saw somebody posting a vid of COD4 where somebody shouts injured people in the head 5 min in a row !

That is nothing compared to F.E.A.R. where you could blow off limbs and shit and it was much more detailed than that. Even Hitman has a shitload of blood and crunching sounds when you use the hammer/knife/shears/othermeeleeweaponsYet we can have softcore porn sigs, talk about sex drugs and drinking, but someones worried about the 13 year olds seeing video game violence? That is idiocy on another level.HellHead wrote:

Please... that kind of stuff, virtual or not is not even game fun (which this forum is about) anymore.
It´s just tasteless... End of story. I bet there are other forums around where you can post this crap.
BTW, to those below the quoted post (HellHead), if you see Marlbmans sig on the street every day, you live in a very strange and gay town...

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

And Dragonclaw basically said what I wanted to say. You gonna start protesting when someone posts a trailer for a gruesome movie as well? Get real, you sound like you belong on the ESRB. Then again you'd probably censor every game and make it a felony to play games if you aren't of a certain age to play them.

While yes, the video of the killings is brutal, it is indeed a double standard. Like you said with CoD4, Crysis etc there's so many other things that are worse posted on the forum and they go on without being closed. People with drug sigs, talking about getting drunk out of their mind (as Hurri said, I also have no problem with this stuff), videos from the GTA III series and soon to come GTA IV (which I posted)... In CoD4, you can break the necks of dogs, you can stab people while they're crawling...but this isn't allowed?

Ok guys let me put it in another way. I´m 31 years old and I would not want my kids to see something like this on a video game forum.
Nudity is a part of our society. Go to the beach in the summer time, you know what I mean.
Alcohol (at least in germany) is "everyday business".
But violence is another chapter.
I for myself have no problem with violence in any form. I watch horror movies, I listen to Death Metal and I play
video games with blood and gore in it.
But somehow, maybe it is my age, I felt this video was not appropriate for this forum. Period.
@ig The only thing that really offended me was your stupid comments.
And if you can´t contribute to a somehow serious discussion maybe you are the one how should gtfo.

You realize this is a forum for a game where you're encouraged to kill people, right? It makes no difference how bad the killing is. It's killing.HellHead wrote:

Like I said. These aren't the god damn nickelodeon forums. What do you expect when you go onto a forum for a WAR GAME? If you expect flowers, candy and michael jackson's neverland ranch, here ya go.

It's not like this is going to change anything. Stop wasting your time.

This thread is very interesting. I have an opinion, but I'll just sit back and watch where this goes.

On the temp forums I got in big trouble with flaming_maniac for this video. He said it was tastless and racist, though what it really was doing was parodying how taboo racist language is. I talked to some other mods (Zimmer and Alpha) and they found no problem with it.
Might as well close D&ST right? Not like their bickering will change the politicians' minds.NooBesT wrote:

why do all you people care so much? you wana watch the video, youtube.
There is a difference. I follow your string about this forum and yes it´s a about a war game and yes it´s about killing people but I never saw a BF2 video containing somebody chopping somebody elses head off.Poseidon wrote:

Get my point ?
"Killing" is not "killing".
And I don´t want flowers and candy in here just a certain amount of decent attitude.
But like I said before. It´s probably (no offence) a difference in age why we are discussing this right now.
@ ig Last comment proves your immaturity. Saw that earlier, that why I called you "son" Last comment on you tonite.

Not sure how many dads there are on this forum but for my own account i draw the line with socalled violent games where the killings are totally out of context and just pure violence for violence sake - Manhunt is such a game and so is GTA, the storyline if present is so thin that if it where a country even George Bush would have trouble coming up with a lame excuse for invading it.Poseidon wrote:

The BF seriers, Cod4, QW:ET, CSS and similar FPS games are far more acceptable imho ...
Each category have its own agelimit, my 13 year old plays CSS, BF2, TF2 and Cod4 while my 10 year olds will have to wait a little longer.
The older one gets the clearer you see these things, especially when you get kids
Wait behind the line ..............................................................
Violence is violence, Killing in Manhunt is for fun, the same way you kill for fun in every other game, we dont care if the dev put a whole month putting flesh around the bone just for us to "justify" the violence. If we have to cleanse this forum of violence, lets rename it, Hippy2s.com.Varegg wrote:

I have no idea why people get "fun" out of a video game with the sole purpose of slaughtering other people.
And that´s all there is to it.
Just incredibly tasteless.
Execution = What? Violence. Because stabbing some 1 while he is laying on the ground (Cod4 last stand) is any better?....Blowing someone to smithereens with C4 is any better? No, as i stated before, Violence is violence, live with it! Cant stand violence, go browse another forum.XxRavenxX wrote:

The problem most people have is the detail with which killings are carried out in Manhunt; stalking your target, putting a bag over their head, the sound of bones breaking and of people choking etc.
BF2 and COD4 are essentially glorified point-and-click shooters. There is a big difference.
I dont get it when people say "My child or any other child may not be old enough to see what they are watching." In my opinion they know damn well what they are watching. When i was little and when you guys were little you knew what death and killing was. Kid's aren't as stupid as you people make them out to be. It's like 15 year old kids knowing more about sex than their 40 year old parents. There's my opinion.
