Commie Killer this may help
If you have Vista on your new computer all you have to do after you install the game is right click on the BF2 icon and click on properties.  Under the compatibility tab in the window that opens make sure that the box is checked next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and choose "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" from the drop down menu.  Also you need to make sure the box at the bottom next to "Run this program as an administrator" is checked then hit apply.

jeez, stupid bf2.  i guess it only runs under the profile it was installed to.  that's pretty lame on EA's part if you ask me.  i really don't know whay you would be getting the OS privelage error unless bf2 was trying to access a folder/file/registry key it doesn't have rights to.  have you ever heard of a utility called ProcessExplorer?  it's a bit high level, but it will basically show you exactly what bf2.exe does when you launch it.  it should show you where it's getting blocked, but it's not terribly easy to understand... anyone else have suggestions?

Well, it worked, but now I got another problem. I keep getting a message about PunkBuster in the bottom left of the screen, keeps appearing over and over. Only on one server so far, my favorite server. Anyways, heres the pic, any ideas of how to get rid of it?


Take that back, cant remember where screen shots are stored.

Duh. I was looking in the actually BF2 game folder. Anyways, heres the picture, you can see it in the bottom left of the screen.
