Alright I went to update my display drivers on ATI's site because I thought well why not...I download em, uninstall all my ATI stuff, install the new stuff and I get told I have to have net framework 2.0 for the Catalyst Control Center to work. So it doesn't install it! I got the core drivers installed, but no controller. I have to have net framework 1.1 because it is needed for me to run BF2CC to admin for our server (So I'm told)

So I see I have three options:

1. Install net framework 2.0 and get up-to-date on the CCC and Drivers without being able to admin the server.

2. Stick with my net framework 1.1, revert back to an older version of CCC and Drivers.

3. Stick with net framework 1.1 KEEP the current display drivers, but install an older version of CCC and hope for no issues.

So, is there any thing wrong with running older drivers?
Is there anything wrong with running updated drivers but a different version of the Catalyst Control Center?
Is net framework 1.1 outdated or sluggish compared to 2.0?

You can run all .NET framework versions on the same computer.

You can run BF2cc with 2.0

Though that could explain my crashes.

O.K., since you can't understand this, you can use .NET 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0 on the same computer.

How do I configure that?

Nothing to configure, just download them and install ... a .net program built on a certain version of the framework, will use its correct version. You can get them via windows update under optional installs.

I figured it was one or the other. I guess I kinda feel like I don't need extra software installed. BF2CC is working alright so far with 2.0 though. I'll see how things go.

It's a programming platform for windows (and Linux using mono lol).
It allows programs to be made without having to reinvent the wheel.
