Roccat Kone + G15 ftw.
I won't say what's "best" as that's totally subjective, but this is the mouse I use, which is pretty good. The ergonomics are hard to get used to, but it's worth it.
I'm using the saitek eclipse 2 and logitech mx1000 wireless lazer mouse.
I agree, I have the G5, it works great. I have the Z-board with the BF2 keyset. They work good for me. Good luck with your decision.
mx-518 and its pretty good , with sensivity settings and multiple functions boutons.
maplin had a deal a few weeks ago selling a saitek k-board for a £10er ... ended now though

There is no "best". It is entirely personal preference.
Personally, I love my G5 and Saitek Eclipse. Though, I have never tried a different gaming mouse/keyboard, so that opinion is entirely biased. I have no reason, though, to try any other ones... because I love what I have.
G5 = win.
I use a Z-Merc board and a Razer Diamondback, veryy happy.
I use a G5 and that works great for me.
Keyboards doesn't matter at all to me.
(I use a no nonsense IBM keyboard)

G5 + G15 niggers speak truth. Its really the best. G5 has awesome grip, sensitivity control (I dont use it, but its nice to have), weights (again, dont use it), and sweet look.
G15 is sex, it has everything that yours doesnt.... including QWERTY keys.

I previously used this, which I was in love with (took to many leagues / LAN tournaments etc. and worked fine):
Logitech MX518
Saitek Eclipse Keyboard
However, when that terribly 'basic' optical + standard keyboard set-up got boring, I upgraded to the rather popular:
Logitech G5 (2-button version)
Logitech G15
Works just as well - if not better - once you grow accustomed to it . Steelpad S&S Series mousemat throughout ftw- large surface areas!

MX518 + ZBoard Merc here as well.
I love my G5, but SetPoint can be a little annoying sometimes.
As for a keyboard, I just use a cheap Logitech. I've never had a good keyboard. What advantages to expensive keyboards have anyway? I can justify spending £45 on my G5 (well, sort-of ) but surely a keyboard's just... a keyboard?
