This has been pissing me off for a while now.
My laptop has a built in SD card reader. It works fine when I use the 1GB card, but when I use my 4GB card, it just doesn't find it.

I'm guessing it's because of 32-bit limitations, but it seems a bit odd
A while ago I did find a hotfix for it, but it obviously didn't work.

Any ideas (apart from upgrading to a 64-bit OS)?

Edit: It works on my PDA, so it isn't the card itself.

Wait. The 4GB limitation only goes for system memory aka. RAM. Else, how would you be able to use a xxxGB external hard drive?

But!
Just as mobile phones do not accept cards beyond a certain memory size, it may just be the same with cheap card readers in laptops.

You should probably ask the support...

Yeah, I thought that too.

And I'd probably be better off asking a retarded monkey than asking Acer support.

Hmmm...  call your nearest zoo and see if they have any retarded monkeys they can spare.
