I took a break from BF2 for a while and just began playing again just a couple weeks ago off and on. One thing I noticed right away was that I was constantly being switched to the losing team. I used to have about a 2 to 1 win/loss ratio, now I think it's about 1.5. Lately it seems that I'm put on the losing team about 90% of the time, and if I manage to elevate my team to winning status then the server switches me to the now current losing team.

So I was wondering if there might be some server settings that Admins can setup that query a player's stats when they are in a game and then put them on either the losing or winning team based on particular stats such as SPM and their KD ratio. For example if a player joins a server and he has greater than a 2.5 SPM and greater than a 2.5 KD ratio then the server will automatically put him/her on the losing team. Is this type of setting possilbe for Admins to setup on their servers, or am I just the unluckiest BF2 player as of recently? I still consistently get gold and silver medals with scores 120+ per round, but will still end up on the losing team or switched to the losing team. It's quite annoying. Anyone know if there are any team switching server settings?

Thanks.

I thought it depended if you're in a squad or not, and lone wolves get switched before the squad members, dno though

No, I'm switched every third time to the losing team. Even when I'm in a squad. I think its based on your round performance. Because when I dont do really well, I'm not switched, but when I'm doing good I'm always forced to the losing team at the end of the round. So, I'm usually a squadleader, or 1 man squad. (<=== lol)

I'm not sure what it's based on... the other night I and my squad were busy schooling the MEC on Kumbra Dam... if the round had ended I would probably have been a Bronze star winner... then with 10 MEC tickets left I get switched... I was so pissed off I almost broke my keyboard in two typing swear words into global speak... I never even bothered to respawn it was so pointless

The problem is that lameasses will leave the server near the end thinking that if they do they won't get the loss... their wrong... so suddenly the winning side is losing people left and right as they die and are auto switched.

Autoswitching is fine but should never be done during the round, it should only be done between rounds to even up the teams at startup.

Dman thats right if the losing or winning side wants to run from the battle don't punish the ones that tried to stick it out. Another thing i've noticed on some servers is a lot of team switching at the end (no disconnects) of the round with defaults one of the players on the winnig side to the losers. (you must have the war collage ribbon do ya!)
I don't know how may rounds thats happened to me

I'm practically always in squad as a member or leader so I know I'm not being switched for being a lone wolf. However, people dropping at the end of the round from the losing team might have contributed to some of the occasions where I was switched to the losing team. It still seems like no one knows for sure though whether an admin can setup a server to have a player switched to the losing or winning team based on stats and/or performance.

They dont have any settings that will allow that to happen I guess you are the unuckiest BF2 player and play on diffrent servers ones with autobalance off

What I find seriously annoying is you'll join a server and before you can do anything you get switched onto the side which has no flags!

So, you've just connected to a server, been put onto the other side and you can't even spawn.. what a brilliant thought!

lone wolves get switched first to balance teams. if everyone is in a squad then squad members get switched. as far i know, squad leaders and commanders never get switched.

i don't get switched often but the times i have i've been #1 or #2 in the server.
based on the varying theories/experiences people have had i'd say it's either an individual server choice or something that has not yet been advanced as a theory.

I've been getting switched alot as well. Just when I think my team is doing well, BAM hello losing team with 30 tickets and 1 flag left. I find it particularly amusing when I get switched to the losing team, and then that team starts winning the next round and I get switched again.

And that bit about lone wolves getting switched first is not true. I have been switched many times when I was a squad member and there were 5-10 lone wolves running around. I've taken to making my own squad as insurance.

This same thing happened to us last weekend 3 games in a row and about 5 times over two days. We finally get our clan into squad on the same team start winning and poof!  One of us ends up on the losing team. Once it was the best scoring player in the game the other times it wasn't.

Any non-voluntary balancing needs to be locked after the 10th minute at most and between games sounds good to me too.
