Can anybody tell me what the Vista 64 bit home premium rating is for this chip? (Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz )

Which processor out of the Q6600 (95w edition) and E8500 would be best for me to get? I would be using the chip for gaming along side an Abit IN9 32X-MAX WiFi nForce 680 .

If you are comfortable overclocking (it's piss easy these days) the Q6600 is the better buy, it'll hit well in excess of 3.5Ghz with decent cooling and it's quad core which is always a bonus. If you don't want to OC the E8500 would probably be a better choice.

a stock E8400, E8500 should perform better in most games than a Q6600. Although quadcores are the future, atm there are to less games supporting it.

Then those games'll use two cores out of four. I don't see the downside really.
Get whatever the future is, you will most likely not regret it.

I've been hearing about these mobos, anyone know if they can run on the Asus Striker Extreme?

Sure he will not regret it, but dualcores are faster in actuall games than quadcores that only use two out of four.

Thanks for help guys, anyone know the vista ratings for the E8500, Will it be 5.9 like the Q6600?

5.9 is as high as it goes for now, nearly any modern CPU scores 5.9 lol, pretty pointless benchmark really.
