Yes they can.

Best to approach from behind, but also useful if you stop just before it goes off, and you can defuse it without moving.

Yes, an engineer has the ability to remove mines and claymores regardless of their origin (your team or the enemy).

That sounds so wrong in a sexual context.

Any kit can remove an enemy claymore, but you have to take a death.

So does everything.

Yes, you CAN defuse it, but a smart sniper won't have put it anywhere it CAN be defused, if defending himself. Or you'll be lucky and stumble across one at a flag.
Generally, the best method of defusing a claymore is with a tank. Or a noob.

Or if FF on mines is off, you can prank friendly snipers by removing theirs. Be awesome if you could set the things down afterwards, though. Or move  people's C4 packs around. Be priceless if someone detonates them at a flag and suddenly finds that they've nuked their own assets. Or their tank.

You can defuse them, and I have before. If you know there's a claymore round the corner, you can use the wrench through the wall! You can also repair through objects. Next time, damage an IGLA/Stinger that has sandbags around it. Then get your wrench out and repair it on the other side of the sandbag.

Lol never tried that before...I like stabbing people when their feet are sticking through a wall though

True enough, oppurtunities to defuse them are quite rare. And some muppet often runs into it at that moment anyway

You can rez allies if a part of their body is sticking through a wall. Everyone's "z0mg!!11 invisible hacker medic!!11"

Get behind the claymore and use the wrench to remove. Removing AT mines would place them in your inventory, removing claymores gives you nothing though.

It's a hard position to get into. I've had the opportunity once, but wasn't an engineer at the time. Sodding things are hard to spot.

However, I have disarmed them the usual way, by finding a medic, leading him up to it, and jumping into it and crying out for a revive.

so say you already laid down your 5 mines and went and disarmed 3 enemy mines.  Can you then lay those 3 down without having 3 of your original 5 disappear?

True, but don't try it. Even if your manage not to get killed by the claymore, you'll get killed by someone else. A guy with a wrench vs. a banana = banana wins. LOLCAKES
