Hey,

got some new hardware yesterday for some friends.

Asus P5ND
Intel C2D 6750
4096MB Geil Black Dragon
Seagate Barracuda 400GB
Asus EN8800GTX 768 MB

and stuff...

The case, mobo, GPU, CPU etc are mounted and I´ve already plugged the system.

BIOS is working.

BUT:

the system doesnt recognize the DVD-RAM and DVD-RW drives, i.e. I cant install the OS... Every connectors/cables are plugged.
BIOS set one of the drives to IDE-Master automacitly?!?! Didnt work for booting/installing. I´ve tried the other way without any IDE-devise, didnt work either...

Any idea?!?!?

Mess around with the jumpers.  Or try hooking up a single drive, and leave the other unplugged.  Install that drive after the OS.

You could also try swapping the EIDE connectors on the mobo side.

{Edit}   If none of that works, try using on old CD drive that you know works.  If it does, and you can get the OS on there, install the new drives after words.

Only thing i can think of is a bad ide or sata cable to the dvd player... and can you try hooking up a hard drive to the ide or sata cable is using to see if that works...  also possiblity of bad moboard or dvd player...?

and in the bios... the dvd is first boot device...

I would do what N-factor said, use an old CD drive to install windows and if its not recognized in Windows you need to enable something in bios or hardware is faulty.

* Ensure IDE channel is enabled in BIOS
* Check jumpers on the drive(s)

Hah, i did the foolish mistake to put the DVDRW into the Floppy contact on the motherboard, however that fitted there.

IDE channel is enabled in Bios, both optical drives have no jumpers

By that do you mean they have nowhere for a jumper to go or a set of pins with no jumper on them?

I'd assume no jumpers to put on the pins. Try removing one of the DVD drives and it should work..
