Ramming and I think when you shoot someone, say a heli, and it starts burning then you leave it, then it blows up, I THINK that's a roadkill, im not sure though.thepilot91 wrote:

If YOU kill someone without the actuall weapon of the vehicle killing them, I.E. running them over, shooting a truck which blows up and kills a few people etc.
yup, when an enemy exits a vehicle that you were the last to damage; and it explodes, killing him in the process. thats considered a roadkill. or when u blow up a tank and the fool standing next to get blown sky high; thats a road kill too.Ec0li wrote:

it's a indirect kill
Problem solved then ....now when that matter is set i shall make this topic totally unrellevant to the title (pretty common thing here xD)by saying ...my avatar rules!^^
well, mine is better
cos it moves
cos it moves
Either plain running them down, or causing something next to them to explode.
So either if you blast the spec ops nub as he dismounts from his hummer, blasting him across the road with the secondary explosion, or you suddenly reverse when he's sticking packs on and flatten him, it's a roadkill.
Going carmageddon is still fun, though. Almost as much fun as rushing up to a stopped tank, shotgunning the cowering driver, fixing it, and making off with the tank before going on a flag-capping rampage to turn the game around. (We still lost, but by 9 points instead of 100.)

If you play Special Forces, and are on Ghost Town, use the transport helis to squish people on the roofs! Finally, after severe nerfing, the transports have useful purpose! It's just pure lulz squishing those rooftop snipers or noob-tubing assaults.
Yea yeah!Cyrax-Sektor wrote:

Roadkill:
But yeah, It's when you run someone over
In case of planes: Wingkills ...
If you shoot a tank and the tank starts burning, the crew will (if not dumb) exit the tank.. should the tank blow up and kill the recently bailed crew that will count as a roadkill too :] (which explaines alot of plane roadkills)

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Wingkills?
Does that mean it's actually possible to hit parachuting infantry without blowing up?

I imagine you have to clip them with your wing, not go at them nose-on. 3rd-person cam view would probably be good for that.DefCon-17 wrote:

You don't know wingkills? I loved just starting a SP round in 1942 and wingkilling the entire bot teamCyrax-Sektor wrote:

Meh can't find any vid's atm on youtube, but it used to be the biggest showoff of skills for the BF1942 pilots
Fact:
Wingkilling is the process of killing enemy infantry (mostly when they are on the ground) by flying very close to the ground and thereby killing the troops by means of direct impact
Note: WITHOUT crashing

SnakeShit did that many times on the EU unranked server when we were between movie-making! Carrier on Zatar with mig, the hacker even got us with missiles.
Its my favorite thing to do, nothing quite like killing people by running them over at mach 2
Yeah, though the good old propeller chop chop of a spitfire/mustang/messerschmitt/Zero is good enough tooRuhRoh wrote:

The easiest plane in 1942 to wingkill with was(is) the stuka because it's landing-gear is allways out But it is far more satisfying, doing it in the fighters
I used to have a laugh with the B17 Flying fortress on El Alemein could do some pretty hardcore wingkilling in the desert

That was pure lulz. Its in ma Roadkill movie at the end if you wanted to see it CyraxCyrax-Sektor wrote:

Basically, a roadkill example is:
You are in the MIG, firing a cannon at a tank. It sets on fire, dude exits and the tank blows up and kills the dude who exited. It then displays "You [Killed - M1A2 Abrams] Bailing fag" instead of [Killed - MIG-29 Fulcrum]".
I better have been in the credits. *checks out hi-q Stage6 vid*Snake wrote:

That was dopeness! I made it in the movie.

Sometimes claymores and explosives contribute to your ground/air defense road kills when you kill someone with an explosive after getting into a ground defense.
Yup, gotta hate bailers Snake
Is there a discrepancy with roadkills on stats?
My BF2S stats for helis...
Kills - 2,791
Roadkills - 251
Deaths - 2,824
Ratio - 1.0772
My BF2Player stats for helis...
Kills - 2,791
Roadkills - 251
Deaths - 2,824
Ratio - 0.99
BF2S adds the kills + roadkills together when calculating the ratio, while BF2Player doesn't count them.
So are roadkills extra kills or are they already included in the normal Kills total?
