Great.  We should be making tobacco illegal, and instead we're legalizing marijuana.  That's a step in the right direction.

ROn Paul doesn't want to decriminlize it.

He wants to legalize. He's no half-pimp about it.

Marijuana is considered less of an evil than tobacco in Canada.

Perhaps it's the reason why Canadians get so confused when American television shows get serious when dealing with marijuana. It's a fairly lighthearted issue here; mostly, watch Trailer Park Boys to get an accurate understanding of pot in Canada.

I wouldn't mind seeing it legal for use in your own home, assuming you grow it yourself, but I'd punish the sure enough shit out of anyone who sold it, bought it, or had it outside their home. You grow it in your backyard or greenhouse and use it in your living room, fine. You have the shit in your car you're doing time.
Screw that...  legalize it and regulate it.  Sell it in ABC stores for major tax revenue...

I'd be all for legalizing it, but I'd also want to see it treated like alcohol (legal limit for driving), and taxed like cigarettes.

It would demolish the drug trade, and provide a huge source of revenue for local governments, not to mention empty out our low security prisons.

Arnold Schwartzn... admitted to smoking pot - did he not? As for Obama, did he "accidentally" raise his hand when he refused the law a few years back?
