My opinion exactly.
But it still sucks that new mobos come with only 1 IDE controller, so you can't use more than 2 IDE devices...

The benefit is that the cables are smaller. That's it.

Unless you have a RAMdisk or similar that actually uses the bandwidth SATA has available it is not faster.
