KK, today all my computer parts arrived.

New mainboard, psu, gfxcard, hd, and crysis

Anyway, now comes the part where I have to put it together. I want to organize a nerdfest in this topic, because I will use my laptop and my cam to keep the connection with you if I have problems. So yeah, this topic will end ina 'How to put it together and where and with what' ect. fest, I also have no idea at this moment how to get my 500 gb sata in 2x250 gb paritions.

I'm actually saving my last things on my 1337 128 mb usb stick and then I'm good to go.

If you're interested in helping me, post here please. I will need all the advice I can get.

Oh, and btw. If you'll call me a kid, you're totally right. I'm 14.

When setting up xp/vista, partition the hard drive into two 250Gb partitions, then install xp/vista on one, format it using ntfs aswell.

Well, if you ""break" (not talking about the rubber) something with your first time having sex, all you get is probably a slap across the face. With the first computer build you can loose 1000 €, I find that much more intimidating...

As long as he doesnt remove the northbridge heatsink, smash the ram in wrong, cut off part of the graphics card to fit it in the mobo, thermal paste his CPU on the wrong side, or set it on fire, hes fine.

Ok guys, sorry for the long waiting time. I had to exchange my crysis, which I unfortnately bought on Italian. (Not on purpose )

Anyway, I will be back in 10 minutes on the laptop, still gotta clean the place around the mobo ect and I'll also install xfire on my laptop, so hit me up there if possible.

Let the mission begin!

Everything's sexy atm. I've been working 2 hours straight. had problems to put the fucking mmobo in with its fucking usb ports.

Anyway, I gotta PLUG IN ALL CABLES NOW AND HAVE NO IDEA WHICH PORT BELONGS TO WHICH CABLE.

Just remember: cables will always fit easily and usually followed by a nice "click" sound. If this isn't the case, you are doing it wrong most likely. Also, there is usually a clip on the side of cables, and then a clip on on the bit where it plugs into (so they overlap, meaning it can never come loose) - usually these are only on the P4 connector and 24 pin connector though (small 2x2 and big 12x2). Make sure the clips are on the same side of each other as always!

(This post is referring mainly to the larger cables, not molex (think: dvd drive) and SATA (think: hard drive)

There are two cables which go to the front usb and the front audio panel, it's almost impossible to find the right way to place them in and I never used the front usb thingie anyway. So, my question: Is it nescesary?

Ok, I actually make a list what is connected, if something is wrong correct me or if something is missing tell me.

I plugged a PCI-E cable into the gpu.
I plugged a noideavoltcable into my mobo.
I plugged the rest like this:

We need a password for the photobucket picture.

Make sure you use SATA power connectors (on the left) for the DVD and HDD, that the CPU fan and case fans are plugged in, and that the 2x2 power plug near the CPU socket is plugged in.

Does the image work now? I changed my pb to public.

This cable is the one which I plugged into my hd, but because it didn't fit I connected it to the power supply cable and the other power supply port (this cable has 3) on the dvd, the 3rd on the system fan. Is that right?

Here is what needs to be plugged in, for everything.

GPU PCI-e connector
Front and rear case fans
Front USB
Front Audio
Power and reset buttons
Disk drives
CPU cooler

Everything circled here on the pictured should be attached to something, with the possible exception of the green rectangles. I think those are for the front case attachment, but I can't tell for sure.

The two circled connectors here should both be SATA connectors. They should be able to go into your DVD and HDD drives fine.

Looks good atm, realized that I gotta plug the cpu thingie and and I'll let the fton usb and front audio away, since I never use them anyway and I guess they're not nescessary? Thank you, just want a last answer please. Karma supply drop in your area!

If you don't use them, they aren't necessary. But I find that front USB has been really useful for a variety of things, so it probably would be a good idea to plug it in know and save yourself effort later.
