I agree, do the first part of what he said. Pentium 4s are new enough that it would be a waste to shoot them up. I still use a Pentium 4 machine as my main comp because I can't afford a new computer.HurricaИe wrote:
I'd set up a cluster somehow, then set them all to use Folding @ Home 24/7.
Or just take them all to a shooting range / chemistry lab making thermite / Fort Knox for tank practice.
One to probably tinker with, try to understand PC's more. Maybe 1/2 for sale just to get some money to put into my next PC upgradexRBLx wrote:

Can't you see the potential of this? These computers will, with (or even without) some minor adjustments and upgrades:xRBLx wrote:

Indeed, there are a lot of LAN-fit funny old games available that run perfectly fine on a P4 with 512.Freezer7Pro wrote:

- Be perfect for LAN parties.
- Make good servers
- Make perfect HTPCs
- Be wonderful spare-part sources
- With a multi-CPU board make a really powerful computer
- Make perfect office computers (Since no corporations ever defrag/reinstall/undust their computers, of course they get "slow" after some time!)
I could go on forever. These computers have huge potential. Most people just fail to see it. My bedcomputer, for example. Athlon 1600+, 1GB RAM and a GeForce 6600. Works nothing but wonderfully for browsing the web and watching some movies on. There's no need for more power than that for those kinds of applications. I make over 1000€/year on selling stuff that's even slower than that. Just a month or two ago, I sold a P4 1.4GHz with 512MB RAM, 20GB HDD and a DirectX 7 graphics card for 160€ to a guy who wanted something cheap for the mail.

after reading all the two pages this still is the best plan IMO. Then buy the best computer in the world with that money.HurricaИe wrote:

That would be a good way to make money as well, those wouldn't be able to run anything with onboard graphics though.']['error wrote:

Or set 20 up in your basement and do a LAN-party every saturday for the neigbourhood?
