When did they change it so you couldn't jump and shoot anymore? I was just getting my stats up after learning that move. Maybe I should figure out how to roll up like a potato bug and go "Sonic the Hedgehog" with guns blazing on Karkand now.

Anything else weird change?

anyone else feel that jumping and not being able to shoot is fairly unrealistic? especially in the case of grenades...

Nothings changed with the grenades. The animation takes so long that you have always had to hit fire before you jump and throw it, which you can still do.

EDIT: well now that I think about it one thing has changed with them, you can throw them MUCH farther.

I agree... In real life, people can jump and shoot if they really want, even though it might be inaccurate.  In the case of C4, I believe it sucks that you have to walk up to a tank, stick the c4 on it, and then run away and blow it up.  There is so much time involved with this procedure that the tank is most likely going to kill you before it is blown.

yea C4 needs to have a placement timer of about 10 seconds and just 1-kill tanks...

In real life they can shove the gun up their...
But you get my point.

Making it impossible to shoot while jumping in air is something of a ham-handed approach.
Myself, id just make it so that accuracy reduced to the same point as trying to no-scope snipe while in the air and for a while after jumping.

You can jump and shoot in real life, just that you won't hit anything. Have you not ever fired a gun or thrown a grenade in real life?

Oh, you absolutely do not want to be jumping when you throw a grenade in real life. You would want to be hugging the ground when you throw one.

Yeah, wasn't realism the cause of the change for the patch in the first place? Why the hell shouldn't you be able to shot when jumping, this is soooo a result of whiners. And DICE absolutely didn't put any work into it, they just put in a "if (man->air==TRUE) weapon->fire=FALSE;" instead of adjusting the accuracy

btw, you can still throw grenades...

im not a bunny hoper but i just experienced my first problem with this, a guy was hiding behind a low crate, i was on the other side and went to jump up on it, normally i'd just start putting rounds into him the second i could get a shot off (accuracy or not i was close enuf to know a few would get him) but i had to wait until i landed and adjust my aim again since he had moved, i managed to get him but then got shot in the back, i might of been alright if i didnt waste a couple of seconds not being able to shoot in the air and taking more damage then normal.

Yea but the thing is you could have walked around the crate to do the same thing. You'll need to readjust the "jump and fire GP30" skills you have built up thus far.

Here is what I find funny regarding the defendants of "hey you should be able to fire and jump"  Since the game was released you could never sprint and fire, but no body ever whines about that.  I find myself sprinting more than jumping as should 100% of the rest of BF2 players.  Why is it that everyone is complaining about not being able to fire and jump?

Change is a good thing people.  No more quake style gameplay in BF2 is a good thing.  If you don't feel that way, you will either adapt or find another game to play.  If its the latter I won't be missing you.
