So i just had this idea.
This isn't neccesarily related to Trackr or bf2s.
And people can feel free to steal this idea, because i certainly dont know how to do it. But ide love to share it with someone who does and watch it work.

What if you made a website that gave a karma option to any forum that doesn't have karma.

Like this:

-You sign up at the site, karma.net. (or whatever you wanna call it)

-You sign up with the same name as your forum name.

-You get code to put in your signature. This graphic signature displays your karma amount. (itll look pretty)

-When a user clicks your signature they're brought to a page on karma.net where they can choose to give you 1 karma.

-They must have an account at karma.net (to avoid karma spamming/abuse)

-The karma graphic in your signature updates when refreshed to show the newest amount of karma.

Not really.

If I'm understanding what you're trying to say, make karma an add-on for every forum?

Um...every forum has their own version of karma. Vbulliten has reputation, PunBB has Karma and Invision boards have other stuff.

Nobody's gonna pay for this. You can get it off of board modification sites for free.

Its not a mod, and it could be free.

listen, it has no integration with the forum.

you just go to the site.
you get the code, and put it in your personal signature.

someone would then have the choice to karma you if they wanted, they could click that image in your sig which would take them to the 'karma you' page on said karma site (which i just called karma.net)

then it would add 1 karma to your count. now that graphic for your account is changed to show the next highest number of karma.
you see?

I do, but I really don't see a point. Like I said, almost all types of forums have an add-on code or download that allows them to put some time of karma/reputation on users.

I'm not trying to put down your idea, but it's been done in more efficient and easier ways.

Why the hell would anyone click on a link to get to other page just to give someone karma when it can be done so much easier?

Because on some forums it can't be done easier...

We could all PM each other with the message "Here's an imaginary Karma". Then you count them all up and keep a running total...

Good idea.

What you people who are saying "It could be done easier" aren't getting, is that even if there would be a possibility to integrate karma into the new forums, chuy propably wouldn't do it!

Oh, and how is this related to tech?

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

It's like the karma based bf2s, but he wants it to be internet based with the help of the website he's talking about.

Actually I know what he means but can't really explain it..
