Glad to see Brock is back in the ring (or should I say back on TV) but don't see him as a technical fighter. Tempted to watch the fight tomorrow to see how well he does. In the end, Brock will tap out.

I see the saem thing. Couture has even come out and stated that for lesnar making his debut against Mir was a bad choice, and Mir is probably pissed that Lesnar thinks he can hang with him in his second mma fight. Many people forget that the purpose of UFC was for the Gracies to show how a smaller opponent can submit bigger, stronger guys. I'd just love to see Mir get back on track, the weigh in pictures show that Mir is probably at the best shape he's been in his whole life.

here's pics from the weight ins

Mir weighed in at 255, Lesnar at 265, but Lesnar has stated he intends to go up to around 270 or more.

All the information about it airing in the UK was: http://uk.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=event.Calendar

Brock Lesnar left professional wrestling, and went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings, but was cut after a few pre-season games. I guess after that he decided to give MMA a try.

Mir is going to woop Lesner into the ground.  Lesner has a few too many years in the WWE, he probably cant hang with the big boys of ufc just yet.

They don't even look like they should be in the same weight class?  Is there a weight class in MMA?  Lesnar, even though was in the WWE for awhile, and failed at the NFL was an exceptional wrestler in college with a record like 105-4 during his career.  For a man of his size, he's quite quick.  He's got anger which could help him and blind him in the octagon and he got brute force.  Lesnar's upper body will dominate, I do not know of Lesnar's lower body defense and offensive skills.  Mir, on the other hand got agility, experience, lowerbody, endurance, and IMO intelligence over Lesnar.  It will be a good fight, I havn't seen enough of Lesnar's fighting to even form an opinion on who will win.  It will def. be good..

Brute force is good to have, but if you don't have any technique you won't last long. Look at Fedor, many consider him the best heavyweight and even the best pound-for-pound fighter, he isn't some muscled up guy, but he has technique.
Lesnar only has 1 fight on record, and his opponent was no where near whar Frank Mir is. As far as Weight classes, yes. 265 lbs. is the lowest you can be for heavyweight. Above that would be Super Heavy Weight, but there aren't many guys who weigh that much, and can put on a decent fight.

The UFC doesn't even have a SHW division. As far as wrestling is  concerned it's a great tool to have, but wrestling skills alone don't carry too far in MMA. I read Lesnar has been working on MMA for 2 years, but thats not by any means close to the other guys you see in the UFC. And I'm pretty positive the only reason he was brought in to UFC, was because if he wins, hey there's a new star to draw in fans, and if he loses, it shows that MMA is no joke. Either way Dana White will make money off the deal.

I think the fact that Brock failed in the NFL despite his size is enough to show that no matter what you do, you still need technique. Brock could win but I don't see it happening.

I was pretty much spot on.

Here's an article: http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/blog/mma_ex … =mma,64877

Seems Lesnar gave him an early beating, but Mir got the better half of him.
