I want to reformat my PC because it is giving me too much headaches nowadays and system restore is a bitch to me as well......can anybody please help me with my reformatting with instructions or hints of any kind ......thanks
If you still have your OS cd then you can either repair your OS or completely reformat. That is the easiest way to do it.
Make sure you have your Windows Reinstall CD and a serial key, pop in the CD, reboot, hit F12 (it is on most comps) to select to boot from CD. Let it load, follow instructions, do a format on the partition (I recommend to NOT do a quick format) that Windows is installed on, will take up to an hour, will auto reboot. No need to boot from CD now. Then just keep following the instructions while Windows installs, will take maybeh 10 mins. It's pretty simple, just the begging is kind of confusing.

What you do If you have your original OS cd in your cd drive, restart comp, boot off the cd, and then say install Windows or whatever OS. You then can choose how you want to partition the hard drive such as completely erasing everything or making a partition. Just follow the on screen steps.
