the rotc instructor at my old high school was a nam vet. he was a true bad ass. to think how much the kids used to make fun of him behind is back is sickening.
It could help you get into a good college but I wouldn't try it, you have to wear that uniform at least once a week and it has to be clean as hell like the military. I don't really see anything benefical from it alot of my friends were in it and they hated it, plus you have to be there for 0 hour I was in band so I had to be up for 0 hour, but I enjoyed band I wouldn't wake up at 5:30 in the morning to go to school if I didn't like it or to try it out. But it's really up to you what interests you in school?MAGUIRE93 wrote:

You guys are lucky then, your ribbons are way easier to get and you can wear whatever jacket you want. We have to wear either a letterman style jacket or a trench coat. I wear the trench coat and I've only seen two other people wear it instead of the letterman jacket.MAGUIRE93 wrote:

Anyway, you might consider joining the school drill team if you have time because it will make you a lot sharper when you're drilling for class, and you get to travel around the state and meet other people from other schools from their drill teams and make a lot of new friends and some great memories.

Drill team. You know, marching, marksmanship, the fancy parade ground routine. That type of thing.MAGUIRE93 wrote:

That's the Marine Corps, and it gets really old really fast when you do it all day.
It Sucks, don't get your hopes up.
Then again, if you're interested in the Army, this may be more relevant to your interests.

No. It isn't. You see, you'll be doing that for HOURS on end, and it's the same damn thing over, and over, and over. And there's also a tendancy forMAGUIRE93 wrote:

That doesn't mean it's all cuppycakes and rainbows in High School either. And I wouldn't use High School JROTC as any sort of means to think of yourself better than anyone else, ESPECIALLY if you go into the services.MAGUIRE93 wrote:

Well you'll see a lot of people in JROTC that actually will think they're better than everybody else. What happens is, there's these power hungry people/control freaks that are either ugly or have no life or a combination of the two, and they'll take this class, then after their second year, they think that just because they have seniority or a higher staff position, they feel like they're in control and they have earned their right to act like a douche to you just because they can get away with it. They make this program their life and their pride and they hide behind it with their meaningless positions.MAGUIRE93 wrote:
