In the basement I now have a PC hooked up to the TV using a DVI input, using a 2.5mm jack (like you have in MP3 players) for sound.
The PC is currently hooked up the the speakers that are for the TV (used when watching movies), but I have some nice music-speakers in the same room.
What I want to do is easily switch between having my PC hooked up the the TV speakers when watching movies, and Music Speakers when listening to music. However, I want the Media Center screen to be on the TV at all times.
So I would like to have 1 2.5mm jack connected to the TV speakers and 1 connected to the music-reciever, and be able to switch between them without having to pull them in and out of the PC. Is this possible?
As a side note, is there a big difference between an HDMI and DVI connection? Haven't had the chance to watch a movie on it yet.
