Fast dial shouldn't be needed, when you open up a new tab it shouldn't go to about:blank, it should go to your homepage. That was a screw-up on both Microsoft's and Modzilla's part.

As for Minifox, why the hell would you want the icons that small, I have a big monitor for a reason, so I can sit back and relax while being able to see everything, including my browser's buttons.

I can see the icons fine, and it looks nice and gives me a huge viewing area. Not sure why you would want more icons/toolbars

My bad, I was expecting it to work like that.

I never said that Fast Dial was bad. I said it wasn't, or more suitably, shouldn't have been needed. When they developed tabs, they should have thought it though and have a new tab open up your homepage.

As for Minifox, why the hell would you want the icons that small, I have a big monitor for a reason, so I can sit back and relax while being able to see everything, including my browser's buttons.

I never said I wanted more icons, just icons that I could see easily and that are far enough apart so I don't accidentally click the wrong one. And it just seems cluttered. You use the same amount of space across your browser at the top, why leave it empty?

My internet explorer broke on me, I just used firefox ever since. I just found it hard to switch back to a browser with less functionality.
I can't really explain the whole hype and circle jerk about firefox, my eyes weren't blown away the first time I used it.
There is a lot of cool stuff you can do with it especially the add-ons and various themes.

My advice is just stick with firefox for a few days see if your opinions change. The new internet explorer is pretty good though it now has tab's

I suggest you get the following add ons atleast:
Fasterfox
Adblock Plus (it doesn't show a red x, it completely gets rid of the ad's with out messing up the interface on any site)
Clean and Close If using the default download window, this clears your downloads from the list and closes it, saving you one extra click

Edit: Oh and Down Them All! for bigger files and slow servers. Very easy to use and has a one click feature that seems to automatically adjust after you've made a few downloads (picks the default folder to download to)

What I find really strange is that you haven't used any of the extensions (the primary perk of Firefox), and without even attempting to use one, you extinguish it with some excuse.

Speed-dial: Nine homepages in one. (New tabs should be blank, you're going elsewhere, not your homepage.)
Ad-Block Plus: Removes the ads entirely, and yet you find a red cross uglier than the ad itself.

Secondly, you've transformed your Firefox back into IE6 again, making any aesthetic benefit null.

You complain that the Download box doesn't go away, yet if you even looked at the first page of the Options, you'd find that option (in Beta2 anyway). There has also been many extensions to remedy this. I used Download Manager Tweak back when I used FF2.

I've used 3 add-ons. Looks Familiar theme, Firefox Internet Explorer Icons Pack, and Firesomething 1.8 Extension. So don't say I haven't used any.

Speed-dial: Nine homepages in one. (New tabs should be blank, you're going elsewhere, not your homepage.)
Ad-Block Plus: Removes the ads entirely, and yet you find a red cross uglier than the ad itself.
And if I don't have 21867 homepages? Maybe I just want www.google.com to open when I open a new browser.

Yes. I like the look of IE6.

And I said to correct me if I was incorrect, which I guess that you rudely did.

Well, I was bored and I decided to install Firefox. Heard big things about it... Faster, prettier, sexier, safer, yada, yada, yada. So I've installed and used it for a while and I would have to say, I don't see that much of a difference. Faster, I see no difference in loading times. Prettier, that's a matter of opinion. Sexier, well... Safer, this is about the only point I see of having FF. It doesn't use ActiveX so it is by nature protected by a lot of virus/trojans/worms that use ActiveX to infect your computer. But if you don't view "those" types of sites, your chances are slim-to-none in the beginning. Oh, on a different note, when you download something on FF it would be nice if the download box would go away when your done downloading instead of you having to close it or at least have an option to. (Correct me if I'm wrong, there may be something in the main options.) And having a history of things you downloaded could be just as bad as it could be good, if you are sharing a computer.

The owner of this site suggests that you use Firefox to view this site for the "best possible experience" from this site.

I HIGHLY recommend you upgrade to a modern browser like Firefox, Opera, or Safari (OSX) to get the best possible experience from this stat site. It'll work in IE, but you're missing out -- no, really, you are.

Loading times depend on your bandwidth.
you can customize ff to load faster on faster connections.
but overall the biggest thing is its so much safer.
i dont run any protection and i use firefox ONLY, and i dont get viruses.
i once used IE for about 10 minutes and had shit poping up, IE was always running, i would get popups randomly from IE when FF is my default browser, even when i wasnt on the net.

Really simple really. Firefox has loads of useful add-ons.

Just to name a few
Adblock plus
Filterset.G adblock plugin
reload every
no script
screen grab
torbutton
google browser sync
menu editor
4chan

Obviously if you cripple firefox to IE6's abilities, then there isn't much of a difference

It's far more secure than IE, and easier to configure and tweak.

That's about it, however. IE was designed by people who knew how to design an interface, and can save tabs when closed. Firefox can't.
Also, Firefox won't max out of tabs and suddenly break and demand you restart.

If you stop clicking "OK" to everything that pops up, and perhaps lay off the porn sites, you don't get those problems.

I use IE exclusively, and I have never had a virus or any ad-ware problems caused by my browser.  A browser is a choice, and I am not asserting that IE is any more secure than FF.  The security of your habits are far more important than the browser you choose.

I think your missing that the whole point of firefox being so much better than IE is the fact it is open source. Which means anyone can make addons for it. That means you can customize it to your liking. So if you don't like it, you can make it better.

Unlike you I don't like adverts, so I don't see them. There are endless things you can try out. From useful things like video downloaders and download status bar. To random things like a pixel ruler ( yes I have that lol)
