So I am buying a new laptop (thanx everyone), but now I have a new question:

What ISP should I get (preferably under $20, but good gaming performance).

Where are you located?

What ones are available in your area?

I live in SA and I have SBC Yahoo! DSL, it's not bad if you get the 3Mb/s package at ~$25 a month. I usually have a ~30-100 ping with most BF2 servers and don't have any connection errors.

Not Time Warner. I spent the last 4 months trying to get through customer service so they could fix the line. They finally fixed it a week ago.

I live in  Dallas too and while Verizon's Fios is probably the fastest, you have to pay close to $50 a month to get the lowest (5 mb/s) Fios speed available.  I just moved into a new apartment and had to go through the same thing, but I went with Verizon DSL, which sucks compared to the internet I had before.  I would check out AT&T for internet.  At my old place I had a 6 mb/s connection for about $17 (AT&T), but that price was only so low because I got the package deal with internet, cable, and phones, which I don't have here.  You might be able to get a decent deal with Verizon if you do some sort of package, but from the checking I did about a week ago, they were among the most expensive service available.  Check AT&T for sure, though.

I'm stuck with the basic package cause they gave the university some special deal. It's only $30 a month and its all I can afford. I've had many downloads go past 1Mbps too. I even had some mp3 download from p2p at 2.1 Mbps, but I'm not sure I believed it lol.
